Immerse yourself in hands-on upholstery with your own furniture project. Perfect for beginners and improvers, these monthly weekend classes are ideal if you can’t attend weekly sessions on a Friday. 🗓 When: 10am–3pm, Saturdays or Sundays 👥 Class size: Max 3 students for plenty of guidance 🌿 Environment: Relaxed but purposeful, with tea, coffee, and biscuits in a well-equipped studio. 📍Location: Bishton Hall, Courtyard - a beautiful 18th-century mansion in Staffordshire. You’re also welcome to enjoy Sparrows Tearoom next door, where attendees receive 10% off. Projects: • Recover a piece (remove top fabric only) – quicker, suitable for sound stuffing • Reupholster (strip to the frame and rebuild) – takes longer, fascinating process Examples: Footstools, dining chair pads, and chairs for beginners; nursing chairs for improvers; wingback or small armchairs for advanced students Preparation: Bring your chair/frame and top cover fabric. You can strip old coverings in class or beforehand to save time. Katie will request a photo of your project to ensure it’s suitable. Wooden frames should be sound. Materials & tools: Tool hire and sundries included. Additional materials (foam, hessian) available at a student discount. Fully equipped and comfortable workspace.
